I’m glad this was explicitly spelled out, but IMO this was incredibly obvious.
It’s not Trump. He’s far too stupid.
It’s most of the oligarchs — of every economy — who own the controlling share of most multinationals and major domestic corporations, religious fundamentalists, as well as foreign adversaries like China and Russia; plus all of the lobbyists and analytics corps who are happy to subvert democracy for profit (all of them).
This is why surveillance capitalism, social media, big data, and analytics are so dangerous to human civilization. They provide authoritarians — the most corrupt, psychopathic, and narcissistic criminals — with the capability to coerce and manipulate the entire human population en mass.
I mean it is always good to have a report one can point to but i think it was pretty blatantly obvious when JD Vance and Elon Musk openly promoted the AfD in Germany.
Donald Trump’s USA aren’t an ally, but an enemy.
The sad truth. USA at this point is a rogue state. It fucking hurts.
But don’t attribute it to Trump. Project 2025 wasn’t organised by Trump. Trump is a figure head. The article is a limited hangout as long as the people behind Trump and their motivations and goals are not named and analysed.
Time to stop following the USA and make Europe great again.
Europe was always great, don’t let fascists sell you otherwise
You forgot the /s 🤦♂️
Trump is attacking Europe with the same tools that destroyed America
We cheered for them when they were used in color revolutions.
Sometimes research and studies lead to completely expected results and seem like someone playing captain obvious. Nonetheless it’s important to have a solid basis to support one’s own argument, that democracy, freedom and European self determination are being attacked, than to simply assert it.
The problem is that we’re running out of time and are facing an adversary who doesn’t listen to rational arguments. We can’t wait for all sorts of research to prove that obvious fascist scum is indeed fascist scum, because by then, they’ll already have taken power.
I’m of the opinion that we can do both, counter the threat that this modern breed of fascism poses to freedom and democracy while at the same time building a firm basis of factual information that this threat is indeed real and taking place right now. Both aren’t mutually exclusive. While the general population of Russia or the United States is not susceptible to factual information at this point, there are still significant chunks of the European population that are.
Yes, we can do both, but we can’t waste time while waiting for scientific results.
Trumps leverage is the bottom line, and governments and companies are terrified of lost profits.
I fear that it is pretty successful.
